WiseStamp Adds Social Networking Signatures to Emails
Here is a pretty cool new feature I saw via Doriano Carta at Mashable: it’s called WiseStamp, and it lets users put a signature at the end of their web-based emails that links to the social networks they are a part of.
As various social networks play a greater role in our personal and business lives, giving your friends, colleagues, and clients easy access to your web presence becomes important in growing and fostering relationships. With this service (and hopefully other new ones like it), giving them access has become a lot easier.
Along with your phone and fax info, WiseStamp has little icons that let you show your IM or Skype handles, along with a host of major social web services like Facebook, Twitter, FriendFeed, and Flickr.
There is one massive drawback: it’s only available as a browser extension on Firefox and only works with webmail.
I tested it out, sending an email to one of my junk accounts, and it doesn’t seem to be working very well, at least in my Yahoo account. I can’t click on the icons and get them to send me to the Twitter or FriendFeed. I’ll keep messing around with it and give an update about its functionality.
