Unique visitors are important
I am not sure whether this is going to be a good news or a bad news, but ABCe recently announced that unique user metric will replace the way we rely on page impression to estimate the amount of visitors visiting any certain website. ABCe explained that this action is neccesary because page impression are easier to manipulate. This can be done by splitting content into several pages, and that indirectly forces the visitor to go to the next pages just to finish the story. This actually doesn’t come as a big surprise, because there’s already a lot of web 2.0 websites that are existed nowadays. And it’s almost impossible to find out the number of page impression they are receiving due to their Ajax-based nature. Although visitors still can bypass this unique visitor status by deleting cookies, but at least it would be a better way of measuring any website’s traffic amount.
