Google Web Hosting?

Is Google’s next big move to offer web hosting services? Google’s recent purchase of “Googlehostedservices.com” and the fact that Google’s Page Creator already offers an informal web hosting solution has analysts speculating.

Page Creator is a free site tool offered by Google with a lot of great features however, you don’t get your own domain and you’re very limited on the look and feel of the website design.

Google’s recent partnership with Intuit would also suggest that Google Web Hosting may be on the horizon. As a part of the agreement Google will be hosting landing pages for Intuit that could be upwards of 8 million pages in total.

In addition, both Yahoo and Microsoft already offer hosting services for small businesses.

It would seem to be a logical step for Google to enter the hosting arena, not only for the additional revenue, but more importantly for the customer base and a piece of Microsoft and Yahoo market share.
