Google scores partial victory in page-ranking suit

Kinderstart.com is suing Google to get their PageRank back. Not exactly
what we would recommend but I can understand their frustration. We have
taken on clients in the past that have been blacklisted and or penalized
and have had a great success in working with the client to get the site
relisted. The process can be long and stressful and Google desperately
needs a better system. Matt Cutts said on his Blog that Google now will
reach out to certain sites that are penalized if they are using Google’s
Sitemaps feature,
(http://www.mattcutts.com/blog/notifying-webmasters-of-penalties/). But
how many webmasters actually know this.. Probably less then 1 percent.

In my mind there needs to be a better way. A completely separate system
for webmasters to check on the status of their site and be in direct
communication with Google. Google is providing plenty of fast and
friendly customer service for it’s money making adwords but it is
forgetting that without all of the websites that make up the unpaid
results they would not have a product to sell ads on.

There also needs to be a clearer set of rules, and when you break a rule
you should be able to receive information on exactly what rule you
broke. Sometimes rules are not broke intentionally and can be very
difficult to pinpoint.

I’m not saying Google should answer every question or give away it’s
secrets. With the sites that we have helped it hasn’t and didn’t need
to, but the complete lack of an efficient system just isn’t very Google
like.
