Google Partners with eBay

Google announced this morning that they have reached a multiyear revenue share agreement with eBay to distribute “Click to Call” ads on eBay’s international web pages.

One has to assume that the deal is somewhat of a blow to Yahoo given their current domestic partnership with eBay and the fact that eBay has aggressively courted Google rivals as an apparent counter attack on Google’s increasing market share.

As a part of the agreement Google and eBay will develop a “click to call” advertising system utilizing both Google Talk and Skype. The “click to call” system will allow buyers and sellers to have a conversation over the phone, charging advertisers for each call connected. Testing will begin in early 2007.
