Google Launches SearchSmash.com
Google has just launched a new search engine which some are speculating is a testing ground for new features Google is considering implementing on their own website. Some of the features they are testing here are interesting. The search bar always remains at the top of the screen. Images are shown in the right hand column, where AdWords are normally placed, that are related to your search. When you click towards the second page of results, the results quickly appear below the first results which is nice as well.
The most important feature on this search engine is within the search results themselves. You can drag and drop the search results and arrange them in any order you want. When you repeat the search for the same Keyword the rankings go back to how they originally were but it does make you wonder what Google is doing here. It will be interesting to see what they will be doing with this search engine because it could be a sign of what’s to come for the real Google search engine. Wouldn’t it be nice if we could all be on their mailing list when this happens?
