And that’s a huge amount of money. But Google claim that the total amount of users affected by click fraud is less 2% and the credit goes to their Google

Google Adwords cold calling their prospects

Monday, December 11th, 2006

I was quite surprised when I read this. How can Google do cold calling via auto dialer to promote their Google adwords advertising program. But since it’s from a reliable source, I have to say it’s quite funny when Google Adwords staff calling you. Because based on my experience, usually, it’s company like Bain & Mercer that will approach you and do cold-calling.

Maybe he was misled, but when it was mentioned that the caller id showed Google on it, I have a feeling that it might be true. And when I continue reading, actually it happened because werty, the person who started the thread, was actually applying for a premium account. But, it’s really funny, why would they do it on a automated dialer to sign people up? Maybe it’s not too big an issue for you, but, if we think of it. What if there’s someone not from Google is doing this? It can be very pretty ugly.

Let’s search together with Ms Dewey

Microsoft have launched a new search engine. They call her Ms Dewey. I found it rather interesting, because the Miss Janina Gavankar who acted the role as Ms Dewey is such a witty girl. I did some searching and it’s fun just looking at her naughty actions. Although I have to agree that I like it when a sassy girl help me when I am conducting a search, I have to say, it lacked features. I can’t search for photos and any other media files, which I usually can find easily. And the time taken to load the search result is extremely slow if compared to my favourite search engine. Pathethic. If they have the features the features that I need, I would have switched to Ms Dewey. I would love to hear any updates about it soon. Maybe it’s just a way for Microsoft to attract young users who got nothing better to do online? I hope not.
